Complaints

The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal is committed to improving the tribunal experience and delivering exceptional customer service. Where you believe we have not met your expectations, we support your right to provide feedback or make a complaint.

The Magistrates' Court Complaints Policy which encompasses the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal, sets out a process whereby complaints about court services, staff or facilities are investigated and resolved in a fair and prompt manner.

The Tribunal will aim to respond to your feedback or complaint within 20 business days. If these timelines cannot be met, you will be contacted and advised of an expected response time. 

We will use the personal information you provide to respond to you in accordance with out privacy statement Privacy Statement.

General enquiries and feedback

If you have a general enquiry about an application, please contact the Tribunal venue managing your application. A full list of venue locations, contact details and email addresses can be found at our Locations Page. Alternatively, you can contact the Tribunal via email at help@vocat.vic.gov.au.

Feedback regarding Tribunal processes can be provided:

  • in person or by calling your local court and speaking to a staff member
  • via email to help@vocat.vic.gov.au
  • via post to the Tribunal venue managing your application.

Complaints against Judicial Officers

Complaints about the conduct or capacity of Victorian judicial officers may be made to the Judicial Commission of Victoria. The Commission is an independent organisation established under the Judicial Commission of Victoria Act 2016 to investigate complaints about judicial officers.

Any complaint in relation to Tribunal staff or processes should be in writing and forwarded to the Tribunal’s Principal Registrar:
